If you go up to Trout Lake and over - you can optionally link up with a section of the BDR. You can still get over to Glenwood on an amazing road and there are several options for lodging in Trout Lake - both camping and hotels, cabins, etc. It would be cool to go over to Maryhill, Stonehenge, Horsethief Lake, but you'd end up spending a lot more time on SR 14.

I once in one day did the Klickitat loop and when we took a break at Glenwood we decide to ride down back to Hwy 14 and then rode back Carson, WA and did the Carson Cougar loop, then down WA SR 503 (Lewis River Road) to Woodland, WA ate at The Bigfoot and then cruise control South I-5 to Vancouver, WA. It was a awesome day of riding.

Klickitat-Appleton rd > Canyon rd > Old Hwy 8 is a better alternative to the lower section of 142 and Lakeside road is a far better alternative around Glenwood
Eric Wooldridge
That's the short ride, instead of going up the Klickitat river go up to Mary Hill and go up to Goldendale and take 147 West, lot's of pretty scenery
Kim Adair
ADV/Dirt bikers can take Trout Lake up Mt Adams Road to NF 90 and cut over on the 23, and end up in Randall. (check cond before doing it)
Michael Walker
Definitely should go Glenwood to Goldendale via that highway. The Klickitat "breaks" near Lydal Park is worth the trip alone. Amazing "grand canyon" views of the Klickitat river down below. There's also a "secret" view point about halfway between the 2 towns that is incredible.

More than a few! Fisher Hill rd is another fun one that cuts across the middle making two separate loops
Jay Kincy
Yes Wind River Rd. out of Carson is a great one for sure, and the view on Curly Creek isn't bad either. This gets one over to FS25 Via 90 west.

My HOG Chapter in Tigard Oregon, we have this ride once a year. BTW, the Hamburger stand in Greenwood is one the best. Do plan on lunch there.
Dan J Hodgson
I have done this one. There are little places to swim on this route and a cool place in BZ Corner to get ice cream.
Al Hawes
A very nice loop indeed. I usually stay at the icehouse or stinson flat campground. Make sure you stop at the view point between the logging yard and Glenwood! Its view that shouldn't be passed up.
Shawn Plamondon
Rode that loop many of times..Lytle CG is a cool spot to stop for lunch

Great Motorcycle rides: Washington Yes, what Michael said. Also Lyle to Klickitat, up the canyon. Look for Glenwood sign. Turn left toward Glenwood. Ride in to Trout Lake. Great little diner next to gas station in Trout Lake. If the road is good, you can ride toward Cougar and go down toward Woodland State route 503. If you find yourself riding through Carson, Backwoods Brewery has great pizza.
